Here are the new building instructions of the LPE 3i with Lpub and thanks to Ansgar Mährlein.
Features drive by a single cylinder engine, clutch, steering and front suspension.
This new tool has been designed to help builders to know more about their Lego Pneumatic Engines. LPEtool manages all the important data : type of cylinder, number, switch, modified or not, dimensions… The tool calculates the maximun power (at maximun speed and pressure) and the average torque which varies with the rotation of the crankshaft. LPEtools, version 1.0 may 2011 For instance, this classic LPE with 1 cylinder provides 1.3W of power whereas the Nicjasno’s 8 cylinder big block provides 100W, that is surprising but with 1500rpm and 6 bars of pressure, it is quite normal. If you have...
Lot of people ask me to create the instructions of this basic-working smooth engine, so I did. You can download the High Definition PDF or watch the pictures.
A tractor powered by my LPE3i, features drive, gearbox and steering.
My version of LPE3i based on scotch yoke system (original ideas from LPEpower) but with new switches ! It works smoothly at 200RPM with 4 hand-pumps and without friction (thanks to the scotch yoke).
A second test for lego pneumatic engine : a manipulator with rotating superstructure, lifted arm and claw. Powered by simple LPE.
My first pneumatic vehicle : a car. It is powered by a pneumatic 3 inline motor (no fake !) with pneumatic steering, rear suspensions and gearbox with 3 speeds.
