Frequently Asked Questions
What is it about ? I am a Lego Technic builder, all the creations displayed on my website or on my YouTube channel is creation from my own (including design, looks, functions and instructions).
Q : Can I buy this from you ?
A : No you can’t, the only available model I have is the displayed model on the video. I have not enough parts to built other model so I don’t sell anything.
Q : Can you built a copy for me ?
A : No I will not buy the part for you to make a copy. But I usually create a lot of instructions with the bill of material, therefore you can check your parts and buy the missing parts to build a copy. You can buy your part online at bricklink.com or by phone at Lego Direct Customers Service.
Q : Can you make building instructions ?
A : Yes I can and usually I will. Nevertheless, if the moc is more than 3-month old, there is no chance that I make the building instructions because the moc is probably taken apart. Also, I make building instructions when there are enough people who ask me. Consequently don’t hesitate to ask for instructions (politely please) if the moc is not out of date and if there is no available instructions on my website.
Q : Make instructions !
A : I am glad that you like my creation. However, I will not make instructions if it is not asked politely. I am an engineer and lego is an hobby, so it takes me lot of time and I will not waste my time for a person who don’t respect me. But, if you ask politely, there is no problem. Also, please consider that my existed creations have lot of building instructions so check before my website. You must certainly find what you want.
Q : Can you send me more pictures / video about a creation ?
A : No, all data are available on my website, picture, video on YouTube, building instruction, I don’t hide anything.
Q : How many parts do you have?
A : You can watch my collection here, it is only composed of 8 sets, that is why I can’t keep all moc assembled. My whole collection is packed into three metal case plus a tyre box.
Q : I can’t find instructions !
A : When a post is tagged with “building instructions”, the building instructions are published or are going to be published. In any case, you will find the building instructions at the end of the post with this layout :
- -Displayed photo with a gallery
- -Sometimes a link to download a high definition PDF
- -Sometimes a link at brickshelf.
I have planned to gather all building instructions together on my website (some instructions are only available on brickshelf). In order to stay tuned to my creations and the available building instructions, you can follow me at the Nico71’s Facebook Page.
Q : What software do you use to create instructions ?
- SR3D to create the 3D-model
- Mlcad to get ready the steps and rotation step
- Lpub4.0 to design the instructions
- Some tools like Paint.net, gimp or PDF creator to finalise the instructions
As you can see, I use many software, that is why it takes a lot of time to create professional building instructions (especially with mlcad). Sometimes I make a photo sequence instead of professional instructions.
Q : Can you build something for me ?
A : Usually, I don’t build something for someone, I think the best lego experience is to built by itself. Nevertheless, at time I build for professional company or non-profit organization, you can contact me for special request. I have ever work for company as written in the reference page mostly for designing models of industrial products (machines, objects…). The Lego creations are good for conclusive and didactic products therefore don’t hesitate to contact me for special request.
Q : Can you give me some tips to built lego stuff ?
The best advice I can give you is to observe and do research about what you want to build (Google, Wikipedia, forum). Then, try and re-try with your bricks. Build official Lego set (or moc with instructions) is also a good exercise to learn about lego building.
Q : It could be very usefull to use the arrow to browse the picture, no ?
A : Yes, it is impossible on the main viewer but click on the “view with piclens” and you will be able to have full screen pictures and arrow controls.
Q : What is this advertisement on your YouTube account ?
A : Since February 2010, I was invited to join the partner program from YouTube. It enables me to have partner’s options such as custom header, custom banner and get paid from the advertisement on my video. Consequently, some ads appear on my videos but, it helps me to have enough money to update my website, develop my work and live thanks to my hobby.

I really love your work, lots of technical functions and great styling. And that using only 8 sets, just amazing.
In one of your older MOC you used led’s for the head-lights. Can you please show us the required wiring or added resistances in order to use the led with a standard 9V lego power box. Thanks.

1) For your pneumatic engines what is your air source?
(small compressor?, tank?)
2) How do you hook up to the lego hose?
3) How do you get your valves to move smoothly? (mine are stiff)
Thank you for taking the time to read my reply

I wanted to know why you use the same driven steering system on multiple mocs, for example, on your trial 4×4 and your trial unimog the steering system is the same, you connect them to the chassis differently, but anyways i was just curios.
